Turn a scarf into a top!

I bought this silk scarf from Anthropologie last summer. I thought it has a new look besides being a scarf. So here is the look~ It turned into a top. You can wear it at the beach, because it has nothing to cover your back. But you can wear a cardigan or blazer over it.

Bathroom mirror makeover!!

Left: Before
Right: After

Yes I painted my powder room, again.... the color I painted last time was called Quiet Moment from Benjamin Moore, and I thought it looked nice with the decor I chose. This year we changed the tile color so the wall and decor were no longer look good with it. So I painted over with a color called Pale Oak, which is also from Benjamin Moore. I thought for a while how to turn this mirror to a new look that would fit in this half bathroom. So here what I did with it. Hope you all like it. :)

Bathroom decor

I painted my power room. Yes again...within a year...so the original decor was no longer match neither the style nor the color. And I had some leftover paint. So I found some tin cans and a empty wine bottle ( I kept it because I drank it to celebrate my grad school graduation). I bought some indoor sedum from Home Depot. I think they look nice with the tin cans:). Put some cobble stones at the bottom before you add potting mix. Here I mixed some sand and the potting mix. And they look nice so far~~~
Have fun!

The pale mustard satchel skirt!!!

This is a new satchel skirt I made today. It's hard to believe it's April and it's 80 degrees out now. I need to hurry up to finish up those thick fabric i bought. Otherwise gotta save it for next year. This is a pale mustard yellow with geographic pattern. This is my first time trying to sew in this type of style, and as you can see, there are still some imperfections if you look close.
Also some DIY arm candy to go with it~~I fell in love with that blue and white marble like stones at JoAnn Fabric, and it did turn out to be a beautiful bulky arm candy~

Finally I can feel spring is coming!

I made this orange red skirt to welcome the spring of 2012. The wrinkled, pleated, high-waist casual skirt which I would wear it daily. There is a new task that I challenged myself with. I don't normally wear colorful clothes and rarely own some in my closet. But I was in love with this piece of fabric when I saw it in the corner at a local Jo-ann Fabric store. Very simply made just like the skirts that we would wear when we were little girls.
I think with a braided belt, the execution is fairly good.
